Life without technology sounds so simple, doesn’t it? This is going to be a short post today just to let you all know, that I am alive and well (maybe). I believe the Lord is sending me a message, but I’m not sure I quite understand it yet. This I do know, I struggled with my internet for almost two weeks and the very day it was repaired my computer died. So for about two weeks now I’ve tried to repair it. LOL 🙂 Now you know why there hasn’t been any new posts lately!
A Gift of Technology
My very best friend sent me a laptop (she lives in another city) to ease my pain and give me a way to continue posting to this blog (and she thought I may have a breakdown). She’s a wonderful friend who I have known since childhood and I love her dearly. Her gift is so appreciated because it is also helping me pay my bills. I do online banking which I loved until a couple of weeks ago. My….. we really don’t know how addicted we are to technology until it is gone. It’s great when it’s working and a NIGHTMARE when it isn’t! Can you tell I’ve had a rough few weeks? Not to mention that computer issues are time-consuming! I think I’ll leave that for another post. 🙂
My desktop still isn’t in good working order, I believe it may be ready to lay down and die completely. I’ve wiped the drive clean twice and started from scratch, but after numerous updates (we’re talking about an 8-year-old Vista desktop) it always seems to get overwhelmed. Today it just kept freezing on the startup page, so it is probably time to lay it to rest. I’m sad about doing this, I loved my desktop. That may be old school, but for me it did an enormous amount of work. However, all of that work was forever lost when it crashed and it even corrupted the external hard drive where I had my backups. 🙁 Like I said…technology is really good when it’s working and a nightmare when it isn’t.
At this point I will be writing all my posts with my new laptop. 🙂 So thankful for my bestie’s generosity. I look forward to getting back into the swing of things again. Say a prayer for me as I wrestle with the technology beast!
